Save A Life!

I've been a regular donor up till Jan last year (2008). Coz I was bitten by an Aedes mosquito and diagnosed with Dengue Fever in Dec 2007. It didn't kill me or else I won't be writing this now. But it was like a very very bad fever. You'll feel warm now but the next minute icy cold. But I was considered lucky as I wasn't admited into the hospital and no 2 weeks MC either. OKOK... coming back to the topic of this post. I resumed my BLOOD Donation today. I gave about 500cc of AB+ blood in about 15 mins time but the waiting and health screening took about 45 mins. The one hour plus was well spent, learning that you can save upto 3 people with just one pack of blood equivalent to a regular size mineral water.

Well, other than the fulfillment of saving someone's life, it is also a self encouragement to keep yourself healthy in order to donate regularly. My gf is also a regular donor, but females donor need to endure more. They usually have tiny blood vessels which collaps during donation or when it coincides with thier period which made them not suitable for donation. However it didn't stop her from doanating.

I think others may have their own phobia such as needles, pain, blood etc. But give yourself a chance to try and also give three other people who need your blood a chance to live.

That's all for now!! =)
